Alpha Avians of America is a set of NFTs based on the 435 plates in John J. Audubon’s groundbreaking nineteenth-century book, “The Birds of America.” Each NFT includes a color-coded strip along its bottom edge that encodes for four properties: 1) edition number, 2) the bird’s International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) conservation status, 3) its migration characteristics, and 4) its IUCN population trend status. This NFT collection supports Avians DAO, a decentralized nonprofit organization dedicated to bird conservation.
